Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

Author Guidelines

Submission to the International Linguistic Society Proceedings is by invitation only following acceptance of a conference presentation organised by the International Linguistic Society.

Eligibility

Only authors whose abstracts have been accepted for presentation at a Society conference may submit a full paper for consideration.

Manuscript Preparation

  • Maximum length: four pages (including references, tables, and figures)

  • PDF format required

  • Manuscript must be anonymised for double-blind review

  • Include an abstract (150–250 words)

  • Provide 3–5 keywords

  • References must be complete and consistently formatted

Review Process

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.

Based on reviewer reports, the Editor may issue one of the following decisions:

  • Accept

  • Minor Revisions Required

  • Major Revisions Required

  • Decline

The Editor’s decision is final.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Authors must confirm that:

  • The submission is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.

  • The manuscript does not exceed four pages.

  • Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.

  • The manuscript has been anonymised for double-blind review.

  • All references are complete and formatted consistently.

Proceedings Papers

This section publishes peer-reviewed papers selected from presentations delivered at conferences organised by the International Linguistic Society. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.

Personal data will not be shared with third parties outside the editorial workflow, unless required by law.

All data are stored securely on our hosting provider’s servers within the EU and processed according to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their data at any time by contacting the site administrator.
