Vol. 10: Proceedings of 10th International Conference of Experimental Linguistics
This volume presents the proceedings of ExLing 2019, the 10th International Conference of Experimental Linguistics, held in Lisbon, Portugal, 25–27 September 2019. The first ExLing Conference, originally an International Speech Communication Association (ISCA) ExLing Workshop, took place in Athens in 2006 and has since been hosted in various international locations.
Since 2015, ExLing has been held annually, and in 2019, with the establishment of the International Society of Experimental Linguistics, it was formally designated as the International Conference of Experimental Linguistics (ExLing).
Continuing the spirit of ExLing, both new and established researchers gathered in Lisbon to discuss developments in linguistic research and experimental methodologies. This year also introduced group discussions, encouraging open and constructive academic exchange.
ExLing continues to develop as an established international forum for emerging generations of linguists. Participants from across the world contribute to a dynamic exchange of ideas, reflecting the core aim of the conference: to promote innovation in linguistic research and experimental approaches.
We would like to thank all ExLing 2019 participants, the Centro de Linguística at the University of Lisbon, and our keynote speakers—Bart Geurts, Jonathan Harrington, and Marc Swerts—as well as the International Advisory Committee and conference assistants for their contributions to the successful outcome of the conference.
