Peer Review Process

The International Linguistic Society Proceedings operates a double-blind peer review process.

All submissions are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers are not informed of the identity of the authors, and authors are not informed of the identity of the reviewers.

Initial Screening

Upon submission, the Editor conducts an initial assessment to ensure that the manuscript:

  • Falls within the scope of the journal;

  • Meets formatting requirements;

  • Has been anonymised for double-blind review.

Submissions that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the author prior to review.

Review Procedure

Each manuscript is evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Originality and scholarly contribution;

  • Methodological rigour;

  • Relevance to the conference theme and journal scope;

  • Quality of analysis and argumentation;

  • Use of relevant literature.

Reviewers provide structured reports and a recommendation (accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or decline).

Editorial Decision

The Editor considers reviewer reports and makes the final publication decision. Where revisions are required, authors must address reviewer comments before the manuscript can be accepted.

The Editor’s decision is final.
