Vol. 13: Proceedings of the 13th International Conference of Experimental Linguistics

Proceedings of the 13th International Conference of Experimental Linguistics

Welcome to the 13th International Conference of Experimental Linguistics (ExLing 2022 Paris). This year, our hybrid format enables both in-person participation at Université Paris Cité and virtual attendance, allowing us to reach a broader international audience while enjoying the setting of Paris.

As an international forum, the Society is dedicated to analysing language through experimental methods in linguistics, bringing together both emerging and established researchers to engage with current developments in the field.

ExLing began in 2006 in Athens as an ISCA ExLing Workshop and has since been hosted in cities including Paris, Saint Petersburg, Heraklion, and Lisbon, becoming an annual international conference since 2019. ExLing 2022 marks our third conference in Paris.

This volume presents the proceedings of ExLing 2022, including the main conference and three special sessions focusing on Experimental Phonetics, Language Education, and Language Pathology.

A new feature this year is the Language Technology Exhibition, designed to bring together diverse language applications and promote interdisciplinary innovation in language technologies.

We extend our thanks to all participants and to our keynote speakers—Ann Bradlow, Edward Gibson, Frank Guenther, and Charles Hulme—as well as the International Advisory Committee and the Review and Organising Committees for their contributions to the success of the conference.
