This volume presents the proceedings of ExLing 2020, the 11th International Conference of Experimental Linguistics. For the first time, the conference was held fully online, creating new opportunities for broader participation and future expansion.

Our Society is defined by a collective commitment to understanding language through the development of experimental methods in linguistics. It serves as an international forum for both established and emerging researchers to engage with developments in linguistic research and experimental methodologies.

ExLing began in 2006 in Athens as the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA) ExLing Workshop. Since then, it has been hosted in cities such as Paris, Saint Petersburg, and Lisbon, and in 2019 was established as an annual International Conference of Experimental Linguistics.

ExLing 2020 maintains a strong connection to Athens, marking 15 years since the first conference. Its virtual format also represents a new phase, exploring how technology can support meaningful academic interaction while preserving the interpersonal exchange central to the Society. To encourage participation, members of the ExLing Society were granted free access, opening the conference to a wider audience.

Alongside the main conference, ExLing 2020 hosted two special sessions focusing on current topics in Language Education and Language Pathology.

We would like to thank all ExLing 2020 participants and our keynote speakers—Yosef Grodzinsky, Jonathan Harrington, Kathy Rastle, William Snyder, and Wolfram Ziegler—as well as the International Advisory Committee for their contributions to the successful outcome of the conference.
